Golf Course Employee Knocked Unconscious By Fallen Tree Limb In Westchester

A golf course employee was hospitalized after they were struck by a fallen tree limb while working in Northern Westchester.

The incident happened in Bedford on Wednesday, Sept. 27 around 6:45 a.m., when police responded to the Glen Arbor Golf Club at 234 Bedford Center Rd., where an employee had been hit by a fallen tree limb while driving a golf cart.

Arriving officers found the employee unconscious in the golf cart and administered CPR until medics were able to take over, according to Bedford Police Lt. Jeff Gulick.

The employee was then taken to Northern Westchester Hospital before being transferred to Westchester Medical Center. 

Following the incident, the Westchester County DA’s Office and the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration were both notified according to Bedford Police policy. Both agencies are now investigating the incident.

The employee, whose name was not released by police, remains in the hospital. His current condition is not known, according to Gulick.
